Facebook is ramping up security by providing people a choice of setting passwords for games or any other third-party programs put into pages in the leading online social networking.
Facebook stated Thursday that “Application Passwords,” together with a forgotten password recovery feature known as “Reliable Buddies,” will be included the approaching days to safeguards in the service utilized by about 800 million people worldwide.

Facebook launches its weight behind Spirit Day, abuse support for LGBT Youth Day and the fight against harassment and digital.
To celebrate the 20th October Facebook encourages its employees to learn more about Spirit Day and transform their Facebook profile pictures to support the violet, which represents the “spirit” of the rainbow flag. Facebook is also associated with two of its sides – the diversity and security of Facebook – violet all day.

Spirit Day is another example of Facebook trying to combat harassment and digital abuse. The social network has developed a digital tool for reporting abuse, has teamed up with MTV, “A Thin Line” to combat the abuse of campaign, the BBC, the National Crime Prevention Council and other organizations that difference. A Louisiana woman is suing Facebook over allegations that the social networking site collects and stores users’ Internet browsing history without their permission.
Former Louisiana Attorney General Richard Ieyoub filed the federal class-action lawsuit Monday on behalf of Janet Seamon, a Facebook user from East Baton Rouge Parish.
The suit claims Facebook violates wiretap laws with a tracking cookie that records users’ online activity even when they aren’t logged into Facebook.
Similar suits have been filed in other states, including Kansas and California.
Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes says the company believes the suit is “without merit” and will “fight it vigorously.” More… »
